One of my main goals for this blog, is to be a resource to all those who come to visit. And today, I’m here to share with you a new service that will soon become your new best friend. I know it’s become mine.
Grocery shopping, while necessary, can be a huge chore. And a stressful chore at that – especially if you have the misfortune to go on a weekend.
But, fear not.
Meijer has come to the rescue by partnering with Shipt, a subscription-based grocery delivery app. Through their partnership, you can actually shop, and have delivered to you, more than 50,000 grocery items and even some health and beauty care items. Not only will they bring your groceries to you – wherever you are – but they’ll do it within an hour timeframe that YOU choose. You can use your phone or computer to order, then your groceries will be picked and delivered using a local community of reliable shoppers
This service is something I’ve been wishing for ever since I saw someone getting their groceries delivered on a TV show years ago. Not only is it convenient, but it allows me more time to spend with the hubs and the kid. And, since our family time during the week is so limited because of work and school, I want to get in as much quality time as possible on the weekends.
Shipt is servicing the greater Detroit area through 25 Meijer locations. They delivers seven days a week with the exception of certain holidays. Seriously! If Meijer is open, Shipt will deliver. You know what that means… delivery services can take place up to 24 hours a day (if your Meijer location is a 24-hour store).
An annual membership is $99 and a monthly membership is $14 per month, and the $7 delivery charge is waived if your grocery bill is over $35 – and let’s be real, when is it ever that low.
TWO THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
- Shipt prices will vary slightly from in-store prices to help cover the costs of picking, packing and processing. Members can expect to pay about $5 more using Shipt than they would on a $35 order purchased directly in the store.
- When it comes to couponing, Shipt will honor most in-store sales including BOGOs, but some of the sale items in the app will be different. Unfortunately, Meijer’s mPerks is not currently available, but Meijer and Shipt hope to offer mPerks to Shipt customers in the future. Shipt will not accept paper coupons.
