If you and your honey are thinking of doing something special but you don’t feel like going out, you should definitely consider having a romantic night in. I know with the hubs and me, there are times when we just want to stay in and have a nice, quiet evening at home – just the two of us. Rather you just don’t feel like going out, want to avoid crowds, or you just want to save money; whatever the reason you want a romantic night in, I’ve got four ideas to help you create it:
- First, plan ahead. I’m a huge fan of spontaneity… sometimes. But, if you want to create a romantic night in, you’re going to want to make plans ahead of time. You’ll need to gather supplies, create a digital playlist, shop for food, whatever you need to get it done right. When you plan ahead, you can be sure you’ll both have a great night together.
- Get cooking. Another idea is to cook a romantic dinner. Really, any food is a good idea. You have to eat, right? So maybe you make your partner’s favorite meal, or maybe you cook up something together, or how about a picnic in the living room. There are so many ideas. You could even copy a meal from your favorite restaurant to go to together. And, don’t forget a complimentary wine.
- Dancing by candlelight. Who cares if you’re any good or if you’ve ever had professional training. A good way to enjoy a romantic night in is to set up a playlist of your favorite romantic songs and then dance together. Even if it’s just dancing in your living room, you will both love the intimacy.
- Try something new. This is also a great time to try something new together. Take up a new hobby, make a new dish or do something you’ve always wanted to try. You can build a lot of bonds by learning and exploring new things together.
One of the best ways to create a romantic night in is to think about what you and your partner love and then do something that is special to each of you and your relationship. What is something that really shows you are in tune with your partner’s needs? What is something that will remind you of a special time together or why you enjoy one another’s company? Personalize your plans and really show how much you care. Most of all, remember to have fun.
When’s the last time you and your honey had a romantic night in?
