Every now and again during the Michigan summers, the weather can sometimes turn rather wet and miserable. The last time it rained, I saw a teen driver get into an accident. He was looking down at his cell phone when the light turned, and couldn’t stop in time, due to the wet roads.
Let me tell you, it scared me. In five short years, the kid will begin driving. five. I just hope that’s enough time to instill in him the knowledge he needs to drive safely. Car crashes are the number one killer of teens. Becoming a safe driver takes years of experience. By being actively involved in their teen’s driving, parents help increase their teen’s safety.
And, me being me, I had to do some research into what to say to your kids about driving safely. I found TeenDriving.com, and it has tons of info. If you’re freaking out like I am, check it out.
